But of course

I did what you asked me

knowing I did not want to

I thought you would love me

If I ignored my own heart

“But of course” is a painting about a woman who did everything that her social group considered she should do and, as a reward, she was crowned with flowers.

But, she didn’t follow her dreams, and now she fears that she no longer has time to do what she wants to do in life. Forcing herself to do things she didn’t want to do drained her life force.

Acrylic and metallic paint on canvas.

50 cm x 50 cm
