Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose is a sentence from Gertrude Stein’s 1913 poem “Sacred Emily. In the painting I use the rose as a symbol of romantic love and femininity.
The painting belongs to the series Animated Natures, where I mix stereotypes around women with ecology.
