Nathalie is an artist. Her paintings inspired my reunion with painting. We share a love for color, and the blending of cultures. In her case, quite a few more: Spanish, French, Swiss, and American by osmosis. She has lived in Indiana, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, and New York, where she studied art, as well as at the Complutense University in Madrid.
In this video, Nathalie talks about the process, form, themes, and inspiration in her paintings. We also discuss the differences in our artistic practices and how sometimes they lead us to the same result, while other times they take us to different places.
The monochrome paintings I mention in the video are the Gathering Ling series.
